Available options, explained

Dimensions
Enter width or height in whole pixels. The other dimension follows the original proportions, rounded to the nearest pixel. Upscaling is not offered.
Size presets
Choose 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25% of the source dimensions.
File format and quality
JPG and supported WebP offer 10–100% quality. PNG is lossless and has no quality slider.
Encoded preview and file size
The preview shows the actual download, including the Horizons signature when enabled. File size is measured from the encoded output.

Get a better result

Choose the dimensions needed for your destination first, then adjust quality. Repeated lossy re-encoding can reduce detail.

Troubleshooting

If WebP encoding is unavailable, choose JPG or PNG. JPG places transparent areas on white. Applying size in the guided editor preserves pixels in PNG history; use this tool’s Download button for its compression settings.

Before you use Resize & Compress

Can I enlarge a small photo?

No. This tool reduces dimensions or keeps the original size; it does not add detail or upscale.

Why does PNG have no quality slider?

PNG uses lossless encoding. Reduce dimensions or choose a lossy format when you need a smaller file.

Do compression settings carry into the final guided download?

Apply size & continue stores resized pixels. Download here to use this tool’s format and quality settings. The final guided download has its own format settings.

Which files can I use, and what can I download?
